A controversy is growing over shark fin soup. Toronto City Council has overwhelmingly voted to ban the possession, sale, and consumption of shark fins in that city. The shark fin ban movement is here in Calgary too. A group called Fin Free Calgary says about 30 Calgary restaurants serve shark fin soup, and they’d like to see a similar ban here. Shark fin is not the only seafood that raises ethical and environmental concerns. To discuss some of the debates and challenges of this Doug Dirks spoke with Paul Rogalski, co-founder and chef of Rouge Restaurant in Inglewood.
